Weekly Weather August 25, 2008

Still a bit of a low energy week as Mars is in Libra, a sign he doesn’t much care for, where he has to ask permission and partner instead of acting freely and with no thought to the other guy. Venus in Virgo is telling Mars to hold up, take his time, and perhaps being a bit more critical than is needed right this minute.

Jupiter and Pluto are slowing to a stop in the sky and making everything feel very slow mo and sticky. It is a bit like wading through muck or mud. You know how carefully you walk when it is slippery mud? Or that slow motion running that takes place in your dreams ~ pulling the leg up and trying to get it to move. You can move a bit, but not as fast, not as speedy, as direct or perhaps as intensely as you‘d like to move. With Jupiter, the planet of hope and optimism stopping in the heavens as well as Pluto, the planet of change and transformation stopping, it can be either very, very good or very, very difficult. Stations of Jupiter and Pluto are like that ~ very good or very difficult. Or it could be, perhaps, a combination of both, good and difficult, as your old life comes to an end and your new life begins.

Mercury makes both positive and negative aspects but at least there ARE more positive conversations and aspects in the week ahead. Mercury changes signs and moves into Libra, where he is better balanced and more thoughtful about what he says. Right before he enters Libra, Mercury has an argument with Pluto. Think of their argument as the analytical, critical, observant energy of quicksilver Mercury squaring off against and fighting with the Plutonian control freak energy ~ control every thing with a combination of self righteousness, dogmatic beliefs and resistance to change. The fight between Pluto and Mercury peaks on Wednesday. Often, there is something you are mentally very resistant to which gets wildly out of control when it runs up against an immoveable force like Pluto. Relationships can end under this aspect. Or minds can be changed and evolve. Or opinions forever altered ~ either for good or bad. Believe it. Try to bend and compromise or at least agree to disagree.

Venus, too, has good and bad aspects this week. However, she is in a sign she doesn’t much like, Virgo. Venus in Virgo rules the Libra based Mars and Mercury so there is still an enormous amount of Virgo energy but it will be a bit more polite and balanced. Instead of Venus telling you that the outfit you are wearing makes you look fat and ugly, she’ll direct your attention towards another outfit that makes you look more attractive. Let Venus guide you. It doesn’t have to be as hard or harsh as you are making it out to be. You have to agree to change. If you agree to at least TRY something new, you might find you actually LIKE it. Fortunately, Venus moves into Libra at the end of the week, shifting all the energy of Mars, Mercury, and Saturn into a more mellow and partnership oriented space. But, right before she goes into Libra, she squares Pluto. Another fight. First Pluto fights with Mercury and then he fights with Venus.

Pluto and Venus’ fight is about what is of value to you. Again, Pluto is holding the dogmatic, self righteous, and resistant to change argumentative space as he faces off with Venus in her least favorite sign. Our goddess of love is not feeling the love right now. She’s mad, angry, cranky and feeling like no one loves her. Tears. More tears. But clearing. Tears and clearing. Squares do clear stuff. The energy totally clears with these two squares between the mind and the desire pushing against Pluto. Things are completed, finalized and finished. So very long, dragged out situations are altered or can be wrapped up this week. Finalized. Finished and wrapped up. Financial, personal and emotional relationships can completely end under this aspect. Or desires can change and evolve, permanently. Or be forever altered ~ either for good or bad. Believe it. Try to bend and compromise or at least agree to disagree if it is a person you value. Go for the settlement that lets this be over and finished. Now is the time to push for it.

Interesting, both Venus and Mercury’s square to Pluto and entries into Libra take place before the somber yet exceptionally powerful new moon on Saturday. The Sabian image is A GIRL TAKES HER FIRST DANCING INSTRUCTION. New beginnings for all of us start under the New Moon. Read the New Moon report on this site on Saturn’s day!

There is next to NO water in the heavens ~ earth, air and fire but only Uranus is in water. Again, like last week, the energy is going to seek to get physical and express it self in that manner. It wants to go to ground.

When we humans are faced with so little water in the heavens, we compensate or overcompensate! It is a matter of needing to seek balance so to speak. So seek out fluid, watery things. Play music. Dance. Swim. Move in fluid. You might find yourself needing a good solid cry so take yourself out to a tear jerker of a movie. Watch or read something that makes you cry. I sat earlier today watching my stash of “this always makes me cry” you-tube videos and had myself a good half hour cry. My Pisces Moon felt SO much better! Remember we are at a major turning point in our lives. The energy of transformation is building up in our bodies as Jupiter and Pluto station! And it will continue to build up for the next two weeks! It has to come out. If it doesn’t come out, it will create all sorts of anxiety, frustration and stress. So give the energy of transformation permission to ground by doing earth things, physical things that make you feel good. Give the energy of profound transformation permission to flow by offering your self water things that lets the flow go.

There is no need to suffer. There are no points for pain. Give yourself the support you need to make the transformation before you, even if the whole world seems to be waiting for you. Like they say on the air planes, put your oxygen mask on first before you try to help other people. Make sure to give yourself your version of oxygen the next two weeks.

Monday, Moon in Gemini delivers news to Mercury and Venus as well as Pluto. It might be some kind of communication from people you might not want to talk to right now! Moon is mimicking and activating the energy that will take place later in the week when Mercury and Venus both argue with Pluto. It forms a t-square which is a volatile little batch of energy right now with everything else so stationary and stable. It reminds me of the scene in Network where Howard Beale opens the window and shouts “I am mad as hell and not going to take this any more.” It is a frustrating energy. Focus on getting your own stuff done. Folks are going to be in the mood to argue or gossip. So keep your counsel. Mercury and Venus do have an aspect of brilliance to the node so it is a good idea that you have about your desire~ plan to pursue it.

Tuesday Mercury aspect Jupiter and Neptune so belief and dreams are the focus of the day. Moon in Cancer makes pleasant aspects too. Yesterday’s t-square is finished, today, family emotions rise up. Who is your family? What are your beliefs around your future? What were your dreams ~ deferred or acted on? Which dreams still whisper to you?

Wednesday is a harder day ~ Mercury is a bit blindsided by his evening aspects to Neptune, Pluto and Mars. Words can cause you trouble today. Be cautious around words. Run them by a few people before you send them out into the world. Don’t send the email to the person you are angry with. Think twice before you speak. Caution, caution. All communications are a bit more fraught with extra value, potency and danger. Words can cut today. Words can end relationships, forever. Words are traveling influenced by Neptune so they CAN be inspirational, redemptive, imaginative and a call to action, via Mars, plus profoundly transformational using Pluto, if they are spoken from the heart’s fondest and deepest spot with an emphasis on the higher vision, love and how to create.

Thursday Mercury clears the house out ~ back to what the words were yesterday, to see how. Positive clearing or Negative clearing. It can go either way but some kind of action, backed by a bit of stress, takes place. Mercury enters Libra ~ for the time being, he still feels the same as Venus is still in Virgo for a few more days but soon, we shift out of the solid if immoveable or slow moving energy of earth into free flowing air. Earth seeking balance in Air. An interesting imagery ~ sand blasting, dust storms, the wearing away of the rocks in the desert by the shifting sands blowing over them. Mercury is on the cardinal world axis so all words spoken today are profoundly important. And the words are bound to be noticed.

Friday early morning Venus has inspirational aspects as her biquintile aspect to Neptune seeks to inspire a vision of what could be. She’s still a bit in the rapture from last night. Venus squares Pluto so the desire nature is strong if feeling a bit thwarted or frustrated. These aspects happen early in the morning so make sure to note your dreams upon awakening. Or if you are up late, partying, note the conversations. There are important messages about transformation. Mercury joins with Uranus so unexpected alliances can be formed ~ partnering with a sea change.

Saturn’s day, Venus enters Libra in the early morning so we’ll feel a sudden change as all the earth planets are now answering to her. They shift from changeable, mutable earth and a sign she doesn’t much care for, into a sign she adores ~ Libra, relationships, beauty, partnerships, and connections. When Venus changes, all the earth based planets respond by shifting too. Mercury rules Virgo ~ so he’s the boss of the new Moon, Sun and Saturn. Saturn is exalted in Libra. Those planets suddenly feel like they are lighter, happier and more at peace and connected. Mars in Libra now is ruled by Venus in a sign she loves, making his job a whole lot easier. Venus is smiling. The world is a happier place. Sun forms a declination aspect with the node ~ it feels like the path is clearer and at least a bit less cloudy. Mercury needs to watch his words a bit as he has an aspect with Chiron ~ nothing too major but be cautious still. Mars is wanting to act on his dreams. Give him permission to move toward it, slowly, as we are still waiting on Jupiter and Pluto to turn direct but the plans can be made. The New Moon in Virgo takes place today so make sure to read the New Moon report on this website. It is a fabulous moon for a starting ritual!

Sunday Mercury is carrying information far and wide as he talks with Juno, the nodes and Venus today. Moon in Virgo makes a harsh aspect to Uranus suggesting it is time to release things but you knew that already.

Mundane: The Democratic convention takes place in Denver, Colorado this week. Former President Bill Clinton speaks on Wednesday when all those difficult Mercury aspects take place so it will be interesting to see the reception his speech gets. Hillary is speaking Tuesday so her speech should be inspirational as promised by the day’s aspects.

Patterns in a chart repeat. In my chart, whenever I started a new job, the person who hired me left within two weeks of my start date ~ promoted, fired, or another job offer ~ it didn’t matter. They always left, with an apology. Gone. I learned to interview for the company, co-workers and the job ~ not the boss. I often picked out who my new boss would be ~ even if they didn’t know it at the time ~ from my co-workers. I would ask them all sorts of useful questions knowing I would soon be reporting to them. Once I learned astrology, the aspect was in my chart, the ruler of my midheaven (boss) joined to the ruler of my ascendant (me) both found in the sixth house of work. I arrive, the boss leaves and the office changed. Starting with the grocery store deli in high school, through all my corporate jobs and even teaching astrology at the YMCA, fifteen jobs

Joseph Biden was selected as Barack Obama’s Vice Presidential running mate. When Joe Biden was elected to his job, Senator from Delaware, at age 29, his wife and infant daughter were killed in a car crash on December 18, 1972 before he was sworn into office. He was sworn in as a Senator at the hospital where his two injured sons were recovering. Assuming he and Barack are elected, this will be the first job change Biden will have in 36 years ~ or two eclipse cycles. Biden is a Scorpio, born on November 20, 1942, so someone died around the time he was born. A possible pattern from Biden’s life is when he changes jobs (or begins something new ~ similar to being born) someone dies. The last time he changed jobs, his partner died. Biden's elder son, Beau is a captain in the Delaware National Guard, where he serves in the Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps. He is set to be deployed to Iraq in October, 2008. As I’ve said before, the Vice Presidents are very important in this election. We have five Saturn/Uranus aspects coming, starting on Election Day, which promise massive changes we can only fantasize and guess about at this time.
